Donations to Nelson Rowing Club
Nelson Rowing Club functions as a incorporated society and always welcomes donations to help support the running of the club.
Donations provided to NRC will be used in many ways including
- Purchasing new boats, oars or rowing machines
- Purchasing new safety equipment and coaching support gear
- Support of Rower Scholarship Fund
- Support covering the costs of coaches
NRC 150 Boat Club
To celebrate our 150th birthday we have created an exclusive supporters club, the 150th Boat Club, to help us raise funds to purchase a new 8-seat boat to commemorate the celebration.
This supporters club is a celebration of our long history as well as a celebration of our generous supporters. Without your support we would not have lasted as long as we have. And without your ongoing support we can’t keep the love of this wonderful sport alive in our community.
The 150 Boat Club is an opportunity for our supporters to have some fun and join us on our journey in a number of different grades, depending on how much you are able to donate to us at this time.
Will you join us as a skillful Pair? Or come along as a loud and strong Eight? Maybe you’d like to be in the fastest boat of all – the Coach Boat?!
All members of the 150 Boat Club will be:
- celebrated on a special supporter plaque at the Nelson Rowing Club
- invited to an exclusive unveiling of the commemorative boat
- invited to special Nelson Rowing Club donor and sponsor events
150 Boat Club Supporter grades
“Pair” $200 to $399
“Four” $400 to $799
“Eight” $800 to $999
“Coach Boat” $1000 +
All funds raised will go towards the purchase of our new 150th celebration boat. Any funds raised over and above will be used to purchase other new equipment for the Nelson Rowing Club.
Scholarship Fund
One of the main priorities of NRC is to make rowing a sport accessible to all. To help us achieve this goal, NRC and Life Member Jack Collin have established the NRC Scholarship Fund to support rowers in financial need.
Typically scholarships will be awarded to help members cover costs of their club membership, regattas or camps. School and club rowers are eligible to apply to the fund All scholarship recipients are required to continue to row for NRC during the season the receive the funds.
How Can I Contribute
You can contribute to the find by providing a donation either one-off or regular. These doners will be recognised during the season at events and on the sponsors board.
